Gulch to land Coffee Shop

A trio of Nashville businessmen known for their Bare Naked Bagel food truck will open a coffee shop in The Gulch.

Ryan Buttner, a member of ownership group 1201 Demonbreun Coffee Shop LLC, said the team hopes to open by year's end within the mixed-use mid-rise from which the LLC derives its name.

Buttner is joined by brother Justin Buttner and long-time friend and business partner Robert Kane. The latter two began operating the Bare Naked Bagel food truck about three years ago.

Ryan Buttner said the coffee shop, for which a name has not been finalized, will serve Bare Naked Bagel bagels. The planned concept will offer coffee, tea and smoothies as well as "healthy breakfast and lunch options."

"We are excited to develop a new coffee shop concept in The Gulch," Buttner said. "This intersection — given the high level of foot, bicycle and vehicular traffic — lends itself to a coffee shop."

Butnner said Nashville-based Sorci and Swords Design will handle the interior design of the space.

The coffee shop will operate from a 1,400-square-foot space that fronts Demonbreun Street. With the LLC signed as a tenant, 1201 Demonbreun's retail spaces are fully leased.

Treanor Granbery, an affiliate broker with Nashville-based Southeast Venture, represented the LLC in the transaction.

Rob Eakin, who specializes in leasing and analysis work with 1201 Demonbreun developer Eakin Partners, and colleague Tom Harwell (director of leasing and marketing) represented the owner.

Terms of the lease are not being disclosed.
