Longstanding Nashville-based design firm Tuck-Hinton Architects will move to Wedgewood-Houston's May Hosiery Mill complex.

The news comes as the firm recently sold its SoBro property for $6.2 million to Corsair Distillery owner Darek Bell and a group of Chicago-based real estate investors (read here).

Byran Fort and Dan Bauchiero, brokers with Eakin Partners, represented Chicago-based A.J. Capital, the May Hosiery complex owner. Terms of the lease agreement are not being disclosed.

Uday Sehgal, A.J. Capital principal and managing director, said Tuck-Hinton will take the entire second floor (12,540 square feet) of the complex's building that has an address of 510 Houston St. The space, which offers 16-foot-tall ceilings, was used for sock production and was constructed in the 1930s.

"We are honored to have Tuck Hinton join us at May Hosiery," Sehgal said. "They have made significant and impactful contributions to the city of Nashville over the years, and we look forward to being part of their continued success."

Mary Roskilly, one of five partners at Tuck-Hinton, said the company had looked also at East Nashville, Germantown, The Nations and Eighth Avenue South before choosing Wedgewood-Houston.

"We were looking for a place that had the same creative character as our long-time space," she said. "And we're excited about the growth and creative vibe in Wedgewood-Houston.

Roskilly said the company hopes to move by March 2018.

The announcement follows the May announcement that SouthComm Inc., the parent company of Post, will relocate its main office to May Hosiery from The Gulch in early 2018.

The May Hosiery complex spans multiple buildings, with its most prominent building (to which SouthComm will move and pictured above) having an address of 429 Chestnut St.
